We built the thing we wished we had.
Not a company history. Just the actual reasons Delia is built the way she is.
Why we built her
Almost everything competing for your attention is built to keep you there — a feed that never ends, a streak you're afraid to break, a notification timed to bring you back. We wanted the opposite: something built to be needed less over time, not more, because it actually did what it was for.
What we believe about memory
Memory isn't a feature. It's the actual material a life is made of — the names, the dates, the ordinary Tuesday that mattered more than anyone knew at the time. Most of that disappears unless someone happens to write it down, and even then it's rarely somewhere you can find again. We wanted a place that remembers on its own, and hands it back when it matters — a letter about your year, a moment resurfacing on the day it happens to matter again.
Why privacy isn't a feature here
We didn't want to build something that might later have to choose between keeping that promise and making more money. So the privacy commitment isn't a policy page we could quietly edit — it's written into how the company is allowed to operate, and changing it means telling every user 90 days in advance, in public, before it ever takes effect. Why this page has no name or photo on it
That's on purpose, not an oversight. This site is about what Delia does, and what she'll never do — not about the people who built her. If that changes down the road, it'll be because there's something real worth saying, not because a page like this needed filling.
